Austin Rick Cooper completed his residency in pediatrics at
Dalhousie University in 1969 and an infectious diseases fellowship in
Cleveland, Ohio, in 1973. He then moved back to his native Newfoundland and
Labrador as a teaching physician and practicing paediatrician at the Janeway.
He retired as a faculty member of Memorial University’s medical school in 2011.
